Setting up Hosted Exchange ActiveSync for Android

Note: The appearance of Android software may differ depending on your device or software version. The following guides were created using a device with Android 10.

Using the Gmail app

  1. Open the Gmail app.
  2. Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner and select Settings > Add account > Exchange and Microsoft 365.

  3. Enter your full email address and tap Set up manually.

  4. Enter your password.
  5. Scroll down to "Server Settings" and enter the following details:

    Domain\username: Your full email address (e.g. john.citizen@exchange-demo.net.au)
    Server: exchange.iinet.net.au
    Port: 443
    Security type: SSL/TLS

  6. Hit Next. The app will review and update security settings.
  7. Select Done to finish.

 

Using the Samsung Email app

  1. On the Home screen, tap Email.
  2. Under "Set up Email", tap Exchange.

  3. Enter your full email address (e.g. john.citizen@exchange-demo.net.au) and password and tap Manual setup.

  4. Enter the following details:

    Email address: Your full email address (e.g. john.citizen@exchange-demo.net.au)
    Domain\user name: \ followed by your full email address (e.g. \john.citizen@exchange-demo.net.au)
    Password: Your mailbox password
    Exchange server: exchange.iinet.net.au
    Use secure connection (SSL): Ticked

  5. Tap Sign in.
  6. You will be prompted to apply the security settings. Tap Apply.

  7. You will be prompted to activate the device admin application (this is a Samsung device-specific request). Select Activate to finish.
