Reporting Phishing Emails

This article will show you how to report Phishing Scams.

Generally, you should forward phishing emails as an attachment to abuse@iinet.net.au.

Please note that due to the volume of reports received, our Security Team are not able to respond to all reports. You will only be contacted in the event that we believe that your account has been compromised and action is needed to re-secure your account.

While it should be safe to open the email to forward it, please note:

  • Do not click any links or buttons in the phishing email
  • If the phishing email has attachments, do not open or save any of them

iiNet Webmail

  1. Log in to iiNet Webmail and open the email in question.
  2. Click the More button in the top right-hand corner of the email and select Forward Attachment from the drop-down menu.

  3. Enter "abuse@iinet.net.au" in the To field and "Phishing Email" in the Subject field.
  4. Click Send Email to finish.

 

Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open Outlook and double click the email to open it in a popup window.
  2. Select More from the top menu bar and then select Forward as Attachment

  3. Enter "abuse@iinet.net.au" in the To field and "Phishing Email" in the Subject field.
  4. Click Send to finish.

 

Mac Mail OSX (Desktop)

  1. Open Mac Mail and click the email to view it.
  2. Click Message in the top menu bar and select Forward as Attachment from the drop-down menu.

  3. Enter "abuse@iinet.net.au" in the To field and "Phishing Email" in the Subject field.
  4. Click Send to finish.

 

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird and right click on the email in your inbox.
  2. Select Forward As in the drop-down menu and then click Attachment

  4. Click Send to finish.
