Hosted Lync Using Lync in Outlook Web Access

This article will show you some of the basics of using Hosted Lync with the Outlook Web App (OWA).

Using Lync in the Outlook Web App

  1. Go to the Outlook Web App and log in with your username and password.
  2. Click on the down arrow next to your display name in the top right-hand corner. If you are not already signed in, click Sign in to IM.  


  3. You'lll see your current online status along with the different presence statuses you can set.  


  4. To start chatting with another Lync user, click the People tab, search for your contact in the search bar, and then click the chat icon in their search result.


  5. If you receive an incoming chat request, you'll receive a notification on the top right of your screen where you can choose to accept or ignore the request.
